Lumie Bodyclock sunray
The Bodyclock works by using your body’s natural response to sunrise and sunset. It synchronises your circadian rhythm (sleep/wake pattern) and helps regulate your melatonin cycle. Melatonin is a hormone which is produced in the pineal gland at the base of your brain. It is important in regulating sleep and maintaining your circadian rhythm. Studies have shown that melatonin production decreases with age and can be disrupted in night shift workers. By harnessing your body’s natural response to light, the Bodyclock keeps your melatonin levels high at night to make you sleepy and low in the day to keep you alert.
In the morning, the Bodyclock wakes you gently and naturally with light, so you wake up feeling alert and positive. At night, the Bodyclock gradually fades to darkness to help you get to sleep more easily, and sleep better.
The Bodyclock sunray dawn simulator offers:
• scientifically calculated simulated sunrise and sunset
• optional back-up beeper for reassurance that you will wake up
• dimmable bedside light for reading or soft lighting
• digital clock display
• ‘Sunray’ light effect
• special sunshine neodymium bulb
The Bodyclock sunray is a Class 1 medical device, suitable for children and teenagers, as well as adults.
