Active foot support orthotic
Product detail
Orthotics are moulded insoles that are contoured to the sole of your foot. Active foot support orthotics have a built-in raised wedge, or post, that raises the back of the foot. They have a flexible and compressible top cover made from materials with good shock absorbing properties.
The polyester fibres in the top cover are also designed to draw moisture away from the foot, and to make the surface as friction free as possible. The core of the insole is made from durable materials, and the bottom layer is designed to keep the insole in place in your shoe. All materials used in the orthotics are light-weight. Available in most sizes and half sizes.
This product is sold as a pair.
Health benefits
The shape of the moulded insole is designed to be the contour of a healthy foot. When you use the insole, your foot is supported and the back of the foot and the arch are gently raised into the correct position for standing, walking, and running. It fits in all shoe types to provide support, comfort, and pain relief for those who suffer from conditions such as flat feet.
Flat feet are associated with other problems such as plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the tissue that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes) and heel spurs. Both these conditions cause you to compensate for the pain by changing the way you walk. This affects not only your feet, but your leg joints and back too.
Active foot support orthotics are much more advanced than simple arch supports. They correct the position of the foot so that the heel and arch are held in a stable position, allowing the weight of the body to be distributed normally onto the different parts of your foot. This corrects abnormal foot and leg movements and prevents unnatural posture, relieving pressure on the lower skeleton.
The material used in the top cover is highly shock absorbing and cushions the foot against the impact of walking and running. The top cover of the insole also draws moisture away from your foot, keeping it cool, dry, and friction free, preventing rubbing and blisters. The durable core materials help the insole retain its shape during daily use, and the bottom layer grips the inside of your shoe to retain the insole in position without slipping. The lightweight and slime line nature of the insole makes it easy to wear and unnoticeable to others.
