Chillow
Originally developed in the USA, this unique personal cooling pad is only two centimetres thick and fits either over your normal pillow, or inside your pillow case. It’s made with a patented foam core that is activated by filling the pad with just over three pints of ordinary tap water. Once activated, the cooling properties are permanent and the water is fully absorbed. All materials used to make the Chillow are medical grade, and the product is extremely durable. The flocked backing keeps the Chillow in place without slipping or curling.
The Chillow has a cool soft surface and a flocked backing. It can be refrigerated for extra cooling, although this is not necessary for the majority of users.
The Chillow does not need mains power or batteries and is allergy free.
Health benefits
The Chillow provides cooling while you sleep, and can be used on top of an ordinary pillow or a supportive orthopaedic pillow. It is ideal if you suffer from hot flushes, fevers, night sweats, headaches, eczema, sunburn, muscle/joint pain, or sporting injuries.
Many migraine sufferers report that it helps relieve migraines, and the Chillow is recognised by the migraine action association in the UK. It may also help cool the face if you suffer from severe acne, and also recognised by the UK acne resource centre. Many NHS Oncology units also recommend the Chillow for patients whose condition or treatment causes flushing and night sweats.
